There are plenty of reasons we all use Amazon, but if you only use it for toilet paper and vitamins, you’re missing out. Did you know there is a whole world of top-tier fragrances just a few clicks away? It’s true and the selection is only getting better. It seems like very day, more fragrance and grooming brands are hopping on the site, making it easier for you to look and smell good than ever before.
Like with most things on Amazon, however, you have to know where to look. You can spend hours trolling the deepest recesses of the site looking for just the right aftershave. We know because we did—specifically so you don’t have to. We rounded up the very best aftershaves available on Amazon right now and we even surprised ourselves with the gems we were able to find. Below you’ll find our top picks—everything from iconic designer colognes to unique niche scents—and best of all, many of them are less than £100. One word of advice, however, when shopping on Amazon: Look for aftershaves sold by the brands themselves or by Amazon.com (noted in the “sold by” section below the price). Fragrances sold by third party sellers are more likely to be suspect. But don’t worry, we did that little bit of vetting for you, too. Now fire up that Prime membership and get ready to spray the next day.
This slightly nostalgic but still modern aftershave is a classic for a reason. It’s a fresh, clean-cut scent that’s loaded with fresh citrus, but also has just enough spice to give it a little kick. As it dries down, smoother notes like tonka bean, cedar, and vetiver emerge and help it stick to your skin. It lasts a long time, but it doesn’t overwhelm the air around you and instead has a sly confidence that makes it great for both day and night. If you’re looking for a new signature scent, you can’t go wrong with this one.
This zingy 1990s scent retains popularity because of the unique mix of herbs and spices—not to mention the sweet yuzu in addition to the classic citrus notes—that turn it into something subtle and elegant. There’s a light touch to this one, which you’d expect from the iconic Japanese designer. It transcends decades and keeps buyers and wearers coming back over and over.

You can never go wrong with this incredibly fresh fragrance that’s loaded with citrus and herbs that give it a bright, sunny feel. It’s one of those colognes that makes you smell clean, like you just came from the barbershop or used an especially fancy soap during your morning shower. The freshness lingers even as it dries down on your skin to reveal warm sandalwood, patchouli, and amber. It’s an ideal everyday scent that’s never out of place.
Virtually unchanged since this launched in the 1960s, this surprisingly subtle scent is all about the musk (seriously, it’s like 50 percent musk). It’s a smooth, warm, and subtly sexy aftershave that today is what we call a “skin scent,” meaning it’s meant to smell like your skin, but better. There’s a bit of a powdery spiciness to the opening but it dissipates quickly to really bring out the high amount of musk. But don’t worry, even with all the musk in the formula, it’s not overpowering—in fact, it’s surprisingly subtle. It’s a good scent to layer with other scents as well, if you’re into that, as it adds a musky quality to anything it’s mixed with.

Everyone loves a party fragrance. You know the kind. It’s the one you put on before going out on the town to really get the energy flowing (it’s almost better than pregaming). Eros is the epitome of a party scent. It’s bright and crisp, but dries down into sultry vanilla notes that are more skin-sexy than sweet. It’s modern and youthful and, while we definitely recommend wearing it at night, doesn’t need to be relegated to just the club.
This aftershave can be polarising because it is old school (we’re talking released in 1988 old school), but for those that like a deep, dark, traditionally masculine cologne, it’s one of the best. It’s very much a leather fragrance, and some say has a gasoline quality (also very polarising). It’s sharp at first but dries down quickly to a leathery, musky, warm, skin-type scent that’s bold but not overpowering. It’s the type of aftershave you can image an '80s Wall Street power broker wearing on a night out. And honestly, who doesn’t want to harness some of that energy every once in a while?

Until 1995, pretty much all fragrances were marketed to either men or women—and nary the two shall meet. CK One changed all that by billing itself as the first unisex fragrance (whether that is true or not is up for debate). That was a pretty big deal in itself, but what it really did was capture the minimalist vibes of the era with its fresh, citrusy, slightly floral juice that smells clean but also alluring. It’s ideal for warm weather and daytime wear and remains one of the best selling scents to this day.
This isn’t an old school aftershave by the same measure as some of the others on this list, but there is a timeless quality to this one that makes it stand out—and earns it its popularity. It’s fresh, herbal, and woody with a dash of minerality that makes it feel (and smell) like something you could imagine your grandfather wearing, but that you actually want to wear, too. It’s perfect for spring days, but really can work all year round.

At some point in every man’s life, he’s encountered Polo Blue. Blue, or aquatic, fragrances will always be popular among men for the fresh, clean vibes they offer, but Polo’s blend is as special as it is traditional. It begins with a crisp freshness that dries down into a masculine, musky, wood base, but never loses that clean vibe that we all love so much. It’s definitely a crowd pleaser no matter what crowd you find yourself in and is appropriate for pretty much every occasion, from closing a deal at the office to an extra special date night to even just running errands on the weekend.
There are a ton of fragrances in the BOSS Bottled family, including the iconic original, but this one is darker and sexier than the others. Thanks to the frankincense, this one has a smoky, sensual quality right off the bat and as it dries down only becomes deeper thanks to notes like patchouli, vetiver, and cedar. It has insane longevity, so you can be sure it will last you deep into the night. We highly recommend pairing this one with your best-fitting suit for the ultimate date night.

As far as seasonless, signature-scent worthy aftershave, this one is top of the list. It’s fresh and slightly fruity at first (that’s the pineapple leaf), but evolves into something deeper once the base of sandalwood and tonka bean starts to come through. It’s not overwhelming or aggressive, but still smells cool and masculine, making it equally appropriate for office wear, a post-gym spritz, or a pre-date refresh.
Why Trust Us
We’re not going to say something is great unless it's actually great. Every product in Esquire’s round-ups is carefully curated by our grooming and e-commerce teams.
When it comes to fragrance, one of the most important grooming items a man can have, you can rest assured that we’re hand-selecting scents that we’ve personally tested, tried, and loved. Our grooming editor Garrett Munce, along with the rest of the style team, has spent years spritzing, spraying, wearing, and test driving hundreds (thousands!) of colognes and we are confident that these are the best.
Every pick on this list (and our other lists) comes from these years of testing. We know that no two tastes are the same, no two men are the same, and how you want to smell may vary from someone else. But if you’re looking for the right place to start, with advice from folks who care (possibly too much!) about this sort of stuff, this is the place to be.
